We have to do some basic maintenance before our ride out. Check the oil, clean and lube the chain, and give it a good once over.
Working on your bike = Texting on your cell phone? I think she's doing it wrong:
Working on a motorcycle? No better time to listen to some Rage Against The Machine:
We wake up and get ready to go. Tiff is excited to try out her new winter gear for the first time, including the fancy pink neck warmer:
I was halfway tempted to leave her here in the garage all day long with her feet dangling:
I decided against it, though, in fear of receiving "the look" that every male knows about. I'll need somebody to carry my gear while I'm walking around lookout mountain, and with Tiff not there I would have to pay some kid to do it for me. I'm a cheap bastard so I guess it's better that she comes with me.
Make it to the gas station to fill up, I learn it takes much concentration to fill up the gas tank of a FZR600, and a look of pure dedication:
Oh no, too much dedication! Her bike takes a piss on her foot:
We head up I-75 and I decide to stop at the first rest stop just half an hour up to check on Tiff and make sure she is not completely frozen:
I give Tiff my pair of rubber gloves to put on under her riding gloves to help keep her hands warm. She mentions something about them being my only pair and that I should wear them. I remind her that I have the grip heaters, and in fact my hands were getting pretty hot that whole way. I then receive "the look" I mentioned earlier. Apparently that was not the right response, and I was not given a second chance to say something in its place. For some odd reason I start thinking about how comfortable the couch is, and decide now is a good time for pictures!
Tiffany looking cute as always:
I try my best to look cool, but fail miserably:
We make it the rest of the way and take the opportunity to get some gas, and warm up:
Despite the cold, Tiff was nothing but smiles!
At this point we start to think about how cold it is outside, and that we decided to go someplace that was... outside. Not quite completely thought out! Tiff mentions the Tennessee Aquarium, which I haven't been to, so we make the executive decision to head over there to stay warm!
We make it into town and find a place to park:
Arrival:
Don't mention anything about us matching, I got my winter gear first! Hah!
I don't know exactly why we took this picture, but for some reason I posed in front of a few trout:
Even during a nap, this guy looks pretty mean:
I cannot mention what I caught these two turtles doing, but they certainly had no issues displaying it to everyone that walked by:
Some birds were doing their thing:
Seven foot shark:
He is not looking like he is having a good day.
Everybody loves sea turtles!
Holy crap, the shark is following us! I thought about feeding him Tiff and running off, but he swam away and all was well:
Some crazy looking jellyfish:
Stay there for a few hours and see lots of cool stuff! If you haven't gone there I would definitely recommend it. I haven't been to the Georgia Aquarium either but the crowds were pretty tolerable here, I'm sure it is not the same in Atlanta.
Get back to the bikes and grab a quick drink before heading back home:
Head back home and decide to make a quick detour to Red Top Mountain to hang out for a few minutes and take a casual ride through the park:
No good ride report is without a goofy picture:
Tiff will kill me when she sees I posted this one but I simply could not resist!
